Acceptable Use Policy

Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of PipeLime's platform and services. It forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service.

By using PipeLime, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this policy from time to time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1. Permitted Uses

PipeLime is designed for legitimate B2B sales and marketing activities. Permitted uses include:

  • Identifying and researching potential business customers and partners
  • Sending personalized, relevant B2B outreach communications
  • Building and enriching business contact databases for your own internal use
  • Tracking and managing sales pipelines and campaigns
  • Automating legitimate LinkedIn networking and engagement activities
  • Identifying companies visiting your website for B2B lead generation purposes

2. Prohibited Uses

You must not use PipeLime for any of the following:

2.1 Spam and Unsolicited Communications

  • Sending unsolicited bulk emails or messages
  • Sending communications to recipients who have opted out or unsubscribed
  • Using deceptive subject lines, misleading sender information, or false headers
  • Sending communications without proper identification of the sender
  • Failing to include a valid opt-out or unsubscribe mechanism in commercial emails

2.2 Illegal or Harmful Activities

  • Any activity that violates applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations
  • Fraud, phishing, or social engineering attacks
  • Harassment, threats, intimidation, or stalking
  • Distribution of malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Activities that promote discrimination, violence, or hatred
  • Impersonation of any person or entity

2.3 Data Misuse

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing Lead Data to third parties
  • Using Lead Data to build, train, or improve a competing product or service
  • Using Lead Data for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, or any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Using Lead Data for any purpose other than your own internal B2B sales and marketing
  • Processing sensitive personal data (health, financial, racial/ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, genetic or biometric data) through the Platform

2.4 Technical Abuse

  • Circumventing technical limitations, rate limits, or usage restrictions
  • Automated scraping of the Platform beyond permitted API usage
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to PipeLime's systems, networks, or other users' accounts
  • Interfering with the proper functioning of the Service or imposing unreasonable loads on our infrastructure
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service

3. Email Campaign Rules

When using PipeLime to send emails, you must comply with all applicable anti-spam and marketing laws, including:

3.1 General Requirements

  • Only send commercial emails to recipients where you have a lawful basis (prior business relationship, consent, or legitimate interest where permitted)
  • Clearly identify yourself as the sender in every communication
  • Include your physical mailing address or a valid registered agent address
  • Provide a clear, functioning, and easy-to-use opt-out mechanism
  • Honor opt-out requests within the legally required timeframe (10 business days under CAN-SPAM, immediately under GDPR/LSSICE)

3.2 European Union and Spain-Specific Requirements

If you are sending commercial communications to recipients in the European Union or Spain, additional requirements apply under the GDPR and LSSICE:

  • Prior express consent is generally required for commercial electronic communications to individuals, unless you have a pre-existing commercial relationship with the recipient
  • Even where legitimate interest may apply, you must provide clear notice to data subjects and an easy way to object
  • You must maintain records demonstrating that you have a lawful basis for each communication
  • It is your responsibility to determine whether your specific use case permits reliance on legitimate interest or requires express consent under the applicable national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive

4. LinkedIn Outreach Rules

When using PipeLime's LinkedIn automation features, you must:

  • Comply with LinkedIn's User Agreement and Professional Community Policies at all times
  • Use your own legitimate LinkedIn account — do not use fake profiles or impersonate others
  • Send genuine, personalized connection requests and messages — do not send generic mass messages
  • Respect LinkedIn's rate limits and connection request limits
  • Stop contacting individuals who have declined your connection request or asked you to stop
  • Understand that LinkedIn may impose restrictions on your account for automation activity — PipeLime is not liable for any LinkedIn account restrictions

5. Website Tracker Rules

When using PipeLime's Website Tracker feature, you must:

  • Disclose the use of visitor identification technology in your website's privacy policy
  • Implement a cookie consent banner or mechanism as required by applicable law in your visitors' jurisdictions
  • Only install the tracking snippet on websites you own or are authorized to modify
  • Not use Website Tracker data to identify or target individual natural persons (the feature is designed for company-level identification only)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable data protection laws regarding the collection of IP addresses and related data from your website visitors

6. Content Standards

All content created, uploaded, or sent through PipeLime must:

  • Be truthful and not misleading or deceptive
  • Not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
  • Not contain defamatory, obscene, or offensive material
  • Not promote illegal products, services, or activities
  • Comply with applicable advertising and marketing regulations

7. Enforcement

We take violations of this AUP seriously. Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may take the following actions:

We reserve the right to take any enforcement action we deem appropriate, including immediate termination, without prior notice for severe violations. We may also report illegal activities to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
